Do you provide the wallpaper, or do I?

I do not provide the wallpaper. Clients are responsible for purchasing their own, which gives you complete creative freedom. I am happy to provide guidance on the best type of wallpaper for your space and can help you calculate the correct quantity needed.

I am overwhelmed by my choices, can you help me pick out which wallpaper?

Absolutely! I offer professional design consulting to help you navigate your choices. I can act as your sounding board, helping you narrow down your options, or actively guide you on the search to find the perfect wallpaper that complements your style and vision.

Do I need to prime my walls before you arrive?

Yes, priming is essential. Bare drywall and freshly painted walls must be primed for proper installation. Primer serves a few key purposes: it creates a uniform surface for the adhesive to bond, provides "slippability" to allow for minor adjustments during installation, and makes future wallpaper removal much easier.

For best results, I recommend using a high-quality primer like Roman 977 or Gardz. If your walls have been recently painted, please allow the paint to fully cure for at least two weeks before installation.

Can I get a flawless finish on a textured wall?

A smooth surface is essential for a truly flawless finish. While it is possible to wallpaper over lightly textured walls, the texture will often show through.

For the absolute best result, skim coating is the gold standard, as it creates a perfectly smooth surface. However, depending on the level of texture, we can explore other options during your consultation:

  • Thicker Wallpapers: Materials like woven paper or embossed vinyl can help conceal minor textures.

  • Wallpaper Liner: This is a blank paper applied as a base layer to help smooth out minor imperfections.

Some prints and materials are better at hiding texture. Try some samples on your walls to see how the wallpaper interacts with the texture.

Do you install Peel & Stick?

Yes, I do! However, peel-and-stick is not recommended for every situation. Its success depends on proper wall preparation and the environment of the room.

  • Best for: Smooth, non-textured walls. It's an excellent choice for a quick update or for renters.

  • Not Recommended for:

    • Highly Textured Walls: The adhesive will not bond properly, which can lead to peeling.

    • Humid Bathrooms: Peel-and-stick is moisture-resistant but not waterproof, and excessive humidity can weaken the adhesive.

    • Complex Spaces: Due to its lack of stretch, it can be challenging to work around numerous obstacles like outlets or tight spaces. Bathrooms are especially challenging for peel & stick.
